East Cornwall District held their very first Damboree a few weeks ago at Nine Ashes Scout Activity Centre with almost 90 Beavers present. Sadly, the original camp that was planned for September 2018 had to be postponed due to a horrid storm on the camp date that swept in across the South West on the Damboree weekend uprooting trees and causing flooding.
Typical, thanks Mother Nature! We just had to put the Beavers safety first and move the date to early spring.
Occasional badges are required to be approved by the appropriate Commissioner as there seems to be no mechanic for approving Occasional Badges nationally (we’ve tried) we’re in the throes of getting the word out to get approvals through our network of participants.
As winter turns into Spring, and Damboree event planning is well underway, it is with great excitement we’re able to now start taking badge orders for the 2019 Damboree, due to arrive with our Northern Warehouse towards the end of March, we will be shipping badges from very early in April, after they have arrived and been checked into stock.
